Stevan Vuković

Stevan Vuković is a curator, art historian, and art theorist by profession. He graduated in philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade and pursued doctoral studies at the same department. He also attended postgraduate studies in art theory at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht and public space art studies at Bauhaus Dessau. Since 1992, he has continuously published texts on contemporary visual art, art theory, and philosophy. He has been a long-time collaborator with various magazines such as Projekat (Novi Sad), New Moment (Belgrade), Monitor (Podgorica), Košava (Vršac), Contemporary (London), Spike (Vienna), Springerin (Vienna), Umjelec (Prague), Zarez (Zagreb), as well as the daily newspaper Politika (cultural supplement). He has also published texts in Documenta 12 magazine (2007), Manifesta Journal 4 (2005), and On Curating 16 (2013). He is a member of the local section of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). He received the Lazar Trifunović Award for the best text on visual art published in Serbia in 1998.
