In the darkness of the cinema hall, audiences will have the opportunity to embark on a sonic journey exploring the impact of music and frequencies on the nervous system and states of consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This format, where sound is experienced in a space designed for deep focus and collective immersion, makes Balkan Cinema an ideal host for a program that brings together art, science and introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"art-and-therapy\">Art and Therapy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Irina De\u010dermi\u0107 works at the intersection of contemporary music, sound-based practices and the exploration of consciousness. Her original concept, <em>Sound Threads<\/em>, is not a conventional concert, but a structured sonic experience drawing on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>collective listening as a method<\/strong>, the audience does not simply \u201cconsume\u201d music, but participates in a shared sonic field.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>compositional techniques<\/strong> from contemporary art music, including work with frequencies, harmonic series and the spatial distribution of sound;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>therapeutic and somatic practices<\/strong>, including breathwork, body awareness and different states of attention;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/fondacijasasamarceta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plakat.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fondacijasasamarceta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plakat.jpg 900w, https:\/\/fondacijasasamarceta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plakat-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fondacijasasamarceta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plakat-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Her approach is not merely concert-based, but experiential: rather than listening passively, the audience is invited to sense how different frequencies, rhythms and sound textures affect their inner state. In this respect, <em>Sound Threads<\/em> continues BupBap\u2019s broader festival interest in programmes dedicated to sound and inner development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Sound Threads<\/em> program at Balkan Cinema takes the audience on a sonic journey through different frequencies and sound structures. International guests bring an intercultural dimension to the repertoire, helping to create a space for reflection and dialogue on the ways sound affects the nervous system and emotional states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Sound Threads<\/em> is just one part of the rich and diverse program of the BupBap Festival, taking place at multiple venues across Belgrade from 29 September to 15 October. Here are some of the other highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>29 September \u2013 Dor\u0107ol Platz:<\/strong> <em>Between Worlds<\/em>, a concert performance by Tijana Milo\u0161evi\u0107, featuring Schoenberg, Stravinsky and the world premiere of Jugo Markovi\u0107\u2019s composition <em>Melodies of Acceptance<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>7 October \u2013 Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary:<\/strong> <em>A Baroque Night<\/em> with countertenor Vojtech Pelka and the St George Strings, dedicated to Farinelli.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>10 October \u2013 Kolarac Salon:<\/strong> <em>The Art of Encounter<\/em>\u2014a systemic constellations workshop and conversation with Dr Jelena \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>11 October \u2013 Belgrade Philharmonic Hall:<\/strong> <em>Synergy<\/em>, a concert featuring young string players from \u0106uprija and the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, with soloist Strahinja Mitrovi\u0107 and guest Dragan \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 Suzuki.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Zappa Baza:<\/strong> <em>Jump<\/em>\u2014an FMU jazz octet programme dedicated to the centenary of the births of Miles Davis and John Coltrane.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>15 October \u2013 Dim:<\/strong> <em>Psychiatry of Rave: Why Do We Need Trance?<\/em> with Dr Aleksandar Damjanovi\u0107, followed by a closing rave party.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3454,"template":"","categories":[58],"project-tag":[],"class_list":["post-3459","events","type-events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-autorska-desavanja"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.5 -
