ULUS | It didn’t happen
On Thursday, July 15, the exhibition “It Didn’t Happen” opened at the Balkan Cinema. This exhibition marks a century since the publication of the first issue of Zenit magazine as an international avant-garde magazine for art and culture. It also celebrates memory of Ljubomir Micić, founder and international editor of this revue, whose mission and vision continues to be relevant today. This exhibition is also presenting a cross section of the annual activities of the members of department of expanded media of ULUS. Furthermore, it is an effort to gather and present multimedia and experimental works from contemporary art scene.
In a joint statement, the coordinators of the exhibition expressed hope that the audience will be able to single out those that expand the horizons and connect the beginning of the twentieth century with the present moment in the wake of economic, cultural and wider social perceptions of the world around us. The selection of works shown in the exhibition embodies the same need to step into the uncertain freedom of searching for the meaning of artistic work as well as playing with language and codes, such as the heritage of the Zenit endeavor.
The hosting support of the “Sasa Marčeta” foundation to the ULUS program is a gesture in favor for the continuity of the work of the art association, expressing also solidarity of the participants on the cultural and art scene of Belgrade.
